Daniel Carter, LMHC

Dan completed his bachelor’s degree in Theology and his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. Dan is the brother of 5 adopted siblings. He has been involved in disability rights advocacy for over 15 years, has led support groups for special needs families, and has been a presenter and panel member at State and national conferences on the topic of families of people with disabilities.

In addition to his work with people with disabilities and their families, Dan has worked and trained in agencies throughout Northwest Indiana treating an array of issues including substance abuse, marriage problems, at-risk adolescents, anxiety, and religious/spiritual issues. His interests include family therapy, families of people with disabilities, adoptive and foster families, marriage counseling, anxiety disorders, depression, spiritual development, and existential issues. Dan lives in Valparaiso, Indiana with his wife and five children.
